Itinerary

Upon arrival at Geneva International Airport, we will be welcomed and checked-in to the hotel.Overnight stay at Geneva.

We will begin our tour with a visit to the St. Peter’s Cathedral, where the French theologian John Calvin taught for many years. Beside the Cathedral is the International Museum of the Reformation, where we can experience the Bible translation and the Reformation story. Later, visit Calvin’s Auditorium, Calvin College, and the inspiring Reformation Monument with statues of Beza, Calvin, Farel, and Knox.Overnight stay at Geneva.

DAY 3: ZURICH

The day begins with a visit to Zwingli church, the Grossmunster and see the Zwingli Statue. Later in the afternoon we will take a stroll through the Swiss National Museum, which possess fascinating displays and art from the Swiss Reformation.Overnight stay at Zurich.

DAY 4: STRASBOURG

Today we will drive to Strasbourg, referred to as the “City of Hope” or “Refuge of the Righteous” by the Anabaptists. Our tour will include a visit to the Cathedral of Strasbourg with its amazing Astronomical Clock, St. Thomas’s Church, the Statue of the Reformers in the Strasbourg University.Overnight in Strasbourg.

DAY 5: WORMS - MAINZ

Today, drive to Worms, the place where the Assemble gave a verdict on Luther after he refused to recant. A guided walking tour of the city provide considerable insight into Luther’s life. Explore the Trinity Cathedral, the church where history began for the Reformation movement and visit the monument dedicated to Luther in this vicinity. The final halt will be at the Gutenberg Museum, where the original versions of the Bible can be found.Overnight stay in Mainz.

DAY 6: MAINZ

This morning we will explore the mesmerising medieval town of Mainz, situated on the banks of the River Rhine. We will continue to visit the Heidelberg, a romantic city famous for its castle ruins, Red Ox Inn, and the Stone Bridge along the Neckar River, known as Germany’s most beautiful bridge. Later in the evening enjoy the Rhine Cruise along the castle overlooking the cliffs, vineyards and breathtaking towns with their trim and aligned woods.Overnight stay in Mainz.

DAY 7: EISENACH - ERFURT

This morning, visit Eisenach and appreciate a guided visit to Wartburg Castle, where Luther translated the New Testament into German. We will then continue to visit the Luther and Bach Memorials, St. George’s Church, Luther house and finally the Nikolai Church and Gate, through which Luther passed by when he entered or left Eisenach. Later we continue to Erfurt, where Luther was struck down by lightning, made his vow to become a monk, and entered the Augustinian order. Visit the Augustinian Monastery, where Luther resided and studied as a monk between the years 1505 and 1512. Then proceed to the beautiful St. Severus Church, the 650-year-old Kraemer Bridge and St. Mary’s Cathedral where Luther was ordained.Overnight stay in Erfurt.

DAY 8: ERFURT - EISLBEN - WITTENBERG

We will continue towards Eisleben, to visit the site regarded as Luther’s place of birth and death. We will then explore the past by making a visit to the museum inside the home of Luther, the place where he was born, St. Peter and Paul Church, the place of his Baptism, and St. Andrews Church where he preached. Later, continue towards Wittenberg where the Reformation moment originated.Overnight stay in Wittenberg.

DAY 9: WITTENBERG - BERLIN

This morning we will visit the renowned Castle Church, where Luther declared his 95 Theses. This follows a guided stroll into the Luther’s Grave and Luther House, where Martin Luther and his family resided, as well as the historic twin-towered gothic St. Mary’s church, where Martin Luther preached the Reformation principles. We will also visit Lutherhalle, Luther’s dwelling in the Augusteum which is now a museum of Reformation history containing an unsurpassed collection of Reformation artifacts. The highlight of the day will be a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Melanchton House known for its renaissance architecture.Overnight stay in Berlin

DAY 10: BERLIN

We will begin with a panoramic tour of Berlin to visit, the Charlottenburg Castle, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, the famous Kurfurstendamm, Bellevue Castle, the Holocaust Memorial, and the Reichstag Building. In former Eastern Berlin, a photo stop at the exquisite Brandenburg Gate, Gendarmenmarkt, the Berlin Cathedral, Alexanderplatz, the Nikolai Quarter, and the remains of the Berlin Wall. The rest of the day will be spent in leisure.Overnight stay in Berlin.

DAY 11: BERLIN - PRAGUE

Upon arriving in Prague, visit the Castle, which is a complex of palaces, courtyards, streets, and churches including St. Vitus Cathedral. It took 600 years to finish construction of the Cathedral. Later in the afternoon we will take a stroll through Charles Bridge, passing the famous statues. Later, enjoy the evening on the Vltava River Cruise displaying the incredible sights along Prague’s river front.Overnight in Prague.

DAY 12: PRAGUE - VIENNA

This morning we depart for Vienna, en route stop at the Velehrad Monastery, which had its Christian roots in the arrival of Saints Cyril and Methodius in 863 AD. Make our way towards Vienna, the Musical Capital of Austria and journey to the heart of the Hofburg Dynasty, where we get sufficient time to explore the city.Overnight in Vienna.

DAY 13: VIENNA

In the morning, visit one of Europe’s most well-known cathedrals, St Stephens. We will continue with a panoramic city tour of Vienna, including the Ringstrabe, with its magnificent buildings, the State Opera House, Parliament House, and plenty of other landmarks. We will then visit Hofburg Palace, the residence of the Hapsburgs, Schöenbrunn Palace, and the royal apartments.Overnight in Vienna.

DAY 14: SALZBURG

Today, we will journey to Salzburg to see the beautiful Mirabell Gardens, the Fortress (Hohensalzburg), the Mozart place of birth, shops, and many other wonderful sights with historic prominence. Following this, will be a drive towards Munich, Germany’s “Secret Capital” that includes the Olympic Stadium, 1,000-foot-high Television Tower, Marienplatz with the Old and the New Town Halls, and the gothic Frauenkirche. Overnight in Munich.

DAY 15: MUNICH

This morning journey to the town of Oberammergau, where attracts thousands of people from all over the world to watch the famous Passion Play once every decade. Later, we will visit the fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle, built by King Ludwig, one of the most photographed palaces in the world and the model for the castles at the Walt Disney theme parks. Overnight in Munich.

DAY 16: DEPART GERMANY

After breakfast, we check out from the hotel and then transfer to Munich International Airport for our return flight to Australia.
